Easy Flavorful Turkey Brine

A simple and flavorful turkey brine. Perfect year after year.

Equipment

  • 1 Brine bag

Ingredients

  • 6 Cups Hot water
  • 14 Cups Cold water
  • 2 Cups Ice
  • 2 Cups Kosher salt
  • 1/2 Cup Tri color or black peppercorns
  • 2 Oranges
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 Purple onion
  • 2 Green apples
  • 1 bunch of Sage
  • 1 bunch of Rosemary
  • 3 Bay leaves
  • 1 bunch of Thyme
  • 4 Garlic cloves

Instructions

  • Bring 6 cups of water to just below the boiling point, then add salt and your chosen seasonings. Stir until the salt is completely dissolved.
  • Next, add the remaining water, ice, and any additional ingredients to the brine bag.
  • Carefully place the turkey into the brine and refrigerate for 12 to 36 hours.
